A London Photoshoot in beautiful Winter Light For Catelyn

London Backdrops

In this post, I’m sharing my latest London Photoshoot with Catelyn. I will take you on a ride around Westminster and Notting Hill

London has a way of making every moment feel magical, and Caelyn’s recent milestone photoshoot was no exception. As a portrait photographer specialising in helping women celebrate special moments in their lives. I’m always honoured to capture stories of confidence, celebration, and connection to this magical city. Caelyn’s session was all about embracing her journey, her style, and the vibrant energy of London. Here’s a peek into our day, plus tips for anyone planning their own London photoshoot!”

A Photoshoot Styled with Elegance

Catelyn came to me wanting to celebrate a personal milestone and change in her career with a photoshoot that felt elegant and joyful, as she is. We wanted to blend timeless portraits with the iconic backdrop of London, so we chose the famous Westminster Backdrop and elegant settings in N[location, e.g., the colourful streets of Notting Hill, the classic architecture of Kensington, or the urban edge of Shoreditch]. The goal? Photos that felt authentic, and uniquely ‘her.’”

What made this photoshoot special:

What I love most about these sessions is how they become more than just a photoshoot; they’re a celebration. Caelyn had a professional hair styling and makeup makeover before she arrived. She had chosen to pair two outfits with shoes and accessories in blue and green tones, perfect for the beautiful winter light. Her high heels added the perfect touch to ther her outfit. The sun was out, and the sky was patched with clouds, which created a beautiful backdrop. Caylin was very patient, our photoshoot was a collaboration of ideas and vibe she wanted to infuse her images with. The shoot took place around midday, which means that we had to work around a crowd of people. Cayelin kept her calm and her energy, created vibrant images set in a London crowd and against Big Ben, Red Phone Boxes and the London Eye, or any fun details, e.g., ‘a stunning red dress that popped against the London skyline’]. We started with the first part of the shoot, around Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament along the Thames River. We moved to Notting HIll to find a quieter location and create images that reflected London Elegant vibe My approach is all about making my clients feel comfortable and confident, so we kept the vibe, and even stopped for coffee at [local café] to keep the energy light.”

Why London? Connect the location to the client’s story:

“London isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a character in these photos. For Catelyn, London is the city where she moved to as a student and will start her career. Catelyn wanted an editorial vibe for her photoshoot with locations that said London and images she could look back to celebrate this new milestone in her life
