How did I choose my photographer?

I knew Molly Matcham from a few years back when we met during a photography workshop. I love her editorial and laid back style. The fact that she shoots 100% on film was another factor that made me choose her. Most of all, she adhered to the story I wanted to create.

It was not the first branding photoshoot I had, I did one a few years back, the photographer was great, but I didn’t know what I wanted, I had a vague idea and tried to emulate what others were doing on their website. Results? I hated the pictures because it was not me! I tried to imitate someone I was not, standing in a posh bar with a champagne glass in one hand and a big smile pretending I was living this luxurious lifestyle! I learned a lesson there, don’t try to be someone you’re not. It’s so much more fun to be able to be yourself, create a visual story around your personality and your brand. Don’t look at what others are doing; your brand is as unique as you are. Instead, think about how you want to come across to your ideal audience.

I understand that you might not know where to start, get help, brainstorm ideas work from your brand style. Imagine your clients’ journey with your brand and what you want to share with your audience.
