Strive for progress, not perfection

Strive for progress, not perfection

Hello, hello lovelies,

I've missed you! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New-Year. Wow as unbelievable as it sounds we are in 2018 and I can't believe that my first baby will be 20 this year! Where did all these years go by?  Even more reasons to make the most of the time we have now!

What have you planned for 2018?

If you're like me I can just imagine you, full of ambitions, tackle some health issues with a new lifestyle diet, a few projects, learning new skills and earning a decent living for the sake of your beloved independence.

Before you start running like a headless chicken trying to juggle far too many things on your plate, trust me I know what I am talking about! Think and plan. I truly believe that it's fantastic that you have so many projects looming on the horizon, wanting to learn so many things. It's not only a great opportunity to grow but also to push yourself even further.

Invest in a new agenda, set up a google spreadsheet and plan your 12 months ahead, you can also create a secret board on Pinterest. I always feel excited to imagine the possibles of a new year, and planning for it will not only give you a sense of direction but also achieve what you want. If you don't know where you're heading you will never reach your destination for sure. So plan your year now.

In this course of planning, though I have a word of advice for you, strive for progress not for perfection!

Again I am talking from experience, not being able to realise everything I wanted to, not reaching the sky or failing really frustrates me, it used to put me in a serious anger, and even worse turning the anger against myself oh dear!

Even if you've created this wonderful plan for 2018! Striving for perfection is often the perfect excuse to hold back and waiting for "when I am ready I will ..."  Putting limits on your ambitions, on your desires to change because at the end of the day what's holding you back is fear and perfection is one way to express it.

So for 2018, take the driving seat and stick to your plan! Stop thinking when I am thinner, have fewer wrinkles, feel more confident what ever is holding you back, and I know that you can have so many new projects, resolutions for 2018 which might never see the light of day just because you are striving for perfection and not progress!

I will let you ponder these words by Mary J. Blige

I know who I am. I am not perfect. I’m not the most beautiful woman in the world. But I’m one of them.
— Mary J Blige

Until next week, tell us about your 2018 plan in the comments, share this post, send love.
